Elder Law

Elder Law

Elder law is a growing specialty addressing clients’ concerns in such matters as Medicaid eligibility and planning, guardianships, will and estate disputes, probate, debt collection and decedents estates, fiduciary violations (such as power of attorney abuse), medical treatment for the terminally ill, judicial authorization of medical treatment for incompetent individuals, nursing home issues, and geriatric care management. The firm counsels and represents individuals, hospitals, and nursing facilities in these matters, and provides counselling and representation to hospital patients and nursing facility residents to overcome barriers to governmental assistance. Additionally, the firm assists with the development of supplemental and special needs trusts created to supplement government assistance to disabled or incapacitated individuals.
