About The Firm

Cooper, Spong & Davis was founded in the early 1950s by former U.S. Senator William B. Spong, Jr. and former Lieutenant Governor Richard J. Davis.  In 1963, their practice merged with Clyde W. Cooper’s to form the present Cooper, Spong & Davis.  The firm, which has achieved Martindale-Hubbell’s highest rating, serves its wide-ranging and sophisticated business clientele throughout Hampton Roads in such areas as corporate and banking law, commercial transactions, real estate, health care and hospital law, environmental law, construction law, estate planning, commercial and general liability litigation, collections and creditors’ rights law, municipal entity representation, personal injury litigation, and individual representation.

The firm embraces the most recent technological advances, utilizes e-mail and the Internet, and uses its computerization to achieve more efficient, thorough, and cost-effective results for its clients, while still maintaining the personal attention that has become its hallmark.  With its breadth of expertise, motivated staff, and technological sophistication, Cooper, Spong & Davis is poised to embrace the twenty-first century and continue to provide its clients the quality representation they have come to expect.
